Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer to lead design of plumbing, HVAC, odor control and fire protection for water and wastewater facilities. You will prepare drawings and specs for clients, provide permit support, and supervise multi‑discipline coordination on complex projects in the West Central region.

You will mentor designers and junior engineers, perform design calculations for loads, sizing and energy analyses, and support field staff during construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in producing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs and services during construction for design‑build projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Motivation, strong data analysis skills, technical problem‑solving ability, organizational skills, and multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, design and focus on mechanical systems for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare design drawings and specifications for client submission and permit support.
• Design plumbing, HVAC, odor control and fire protection systems.
• Coordinate with architects, technicians and engineers of other disciplines.
