Jacobs is seeking a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater facilities in the Northwest region. You will guide plumbing, HVAC, odor control, and fire protection systems from concept through construction, coordinating with architects, vendors, and engineers across disciplines.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, and 10+ years in design-build projects. A hybrid work setup and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years’ experience in producing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs and providing services during construction for design‑build projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Motivation, strong data analysis skills, technical problem‑solving ability, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, design and focus on mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Prepare design drawings and specifications for client submissions and permitting support.
• Design complete plumbing and HVAC systems including central plants and odor control.
• Manage and coordinate work with architects, technicians, and engineers of other disciplines.
• Attend meetings with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to establish project needs and discuss design issues.
• Provide design guidance and mentorship to designers/drafters and engineers.
