Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer to lead design for water and wastewater facilities, focusing on plumbing, HVAC, odor control, and fire protection systems. You will prepare drawings, perform calculations, and coordinate with project teams and clients.

You will mentor designers, guide field staff during construction, and help ensure quality, schedule, and successful delivery across multiple projects in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
• PE license required or in process.
• 10+ years of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design experience for design-build projects.
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and preparation of drawings and specs for plumbing, HVAC, odor control, and fire protection.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, vendors and clients.
• Perform design calculations: air loads, flows, sizing, energy analyses.
• Provide field support during construction and issue submittals/RFI responses.
• Mentor designers and junior engineers; ensure quality and schedule.
