South Dakota Mines is seeking a maintenance worker to perform painting, minor plumbing, and general facilities upkeep in remodeling and renovation projects. You will handle wall repairs, door work, and surface preparations with attention to safety and quality.
The role requires lifting weights over 50 lbs, working in varied temperatures, and using ladders or scaffolds. Valid driver’s license is required and typical hours are full-time on-site in Rapid City.
STARTING HOURLY RATE : Minimum of $18.45+ per hour, depending upon education and experience, GE
POSITION PURPOSE : Responsible for paint and wall repair in remodeling and renovation projects including painting walls, ceilings, metal doors and frames.. General maintenance duties include basic plumbing work on drains, faucets, etc. installing light bulbs and shelves; moving furniture, hanging pictures; repairing and replacing stair tread, handrails, doors, hardware and ceiling tiles; completing roof inspections and making minor repairs and maintenance; repairing damaged floor coverings (carpet, VCT , wood, ceramic tile and cove base), removing old floor coverings, preparing surface and installing new floor coverings; snow removal; preventative maintenance tasks; assisting in grounds, custodial, and shop departments; and other duties as assigned.
