Job summary

Hines in Connecticut is seeking a Building Lead Engineer who will report to the Chief Engineer. You will operate and maintain MEP systems, lead maintenance, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safety and reliability across property operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, adherence to safety standards, and staff training. A CT D2/S2 license is preferred and a strong emphasis on customer service for tenants is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a CT D2/S2 license preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge in operating building systems.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Experience with Building Automation System and related software.

Responsibilities

• Operate mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment per standards.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on building systems.
• Make adjustments to fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Coordinate with supervisors and outside contractors.
• Maintain operation logs and reduce callbacks.
• Assist with staff training and long-term planning.
