Job summary

Boston Properties is seeking a Chief Engineer to maintain the integrity of building systems and oversee tenant services in a NYC property. The role requires supervising engineering staff and coordinating maintenance and project work to operate the building efficiently.

The candidate should have extensive HVAC/Operating Engineering credentials, strong technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage budgets and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years operational experience with 5 years in a supervisory role.
• HVAC/Operating Engineering certifications or equivalent training required.
• Licenses for applicable jurisdiction and equipment (NYR Manhattan QO1 Refrigeration Engineers License, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity of building systems and operate the building efficiently.
• Supervise engineering staff and coordinate work schedules.
• Maintain preventative maintenance and service call programs; manage records and budgets.
• Respond to building emergencies and ensure safety and compliance.
• Review plans and ensure conformance to building policies and standards.
