Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead a team of engineers and maintenance staff across property operations. The role focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical operations, safety compliance, and strong customer service aligned with client expectations.

The Chief Engineer will plan, implement, and supervise maintenance programs, manage operating budgets, and coordinate with vendors and tenants.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
7+ years of related work experience in a commercial property setting.
Vocational/Technical training certificate may be required.
Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required (e.g., Journeyman/Master Electrician).
Familiar with Energy Management System (EMS)/fire alarm systems.
Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel & Word.

Responsibilities

Supervise engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, personnel development.
Ensure performance management, coaching, and development through HR processes.
Coordinate annual safety program scheduling and execution.
Maintain 100% site compliance.
Manage operating accounts and assist in budgets; monitor utility usage and costs.
Inspect building systems and equipment; identify and resolve issues.
Coordinate maintenance with contractors and tenant finish personnel.
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
Create and maintain maintenance and safety procedure manuals and documentation.
Respond to emergencies and customer concerns promptly; implement inventory controls.
Ensure compliance with codes, requisitions, and company directives.
