Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead day-to-day operations of the engineering staff at a commercial property in Washington, DC. You will manage the engineering program, ensure quality work, and align with client expectations while upholding company policies and ethics.

You will supervise HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire/life safety systems, develop preventive maintenance, manage budgets, and coordinate with tenants and vendors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 7+ years in commercial property operations or similar building systems experience.
• Strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety knowledge.
• Experience with budgets, contracts, and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise engineering staff and operations.
• Plan and manage mechanical operations, maintenance, and energy management.
• Coordinate with tenants, clients, and vendors.
• Oversee fire/life safety, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs and track budgets.
• Respond to emergencies and manage on-call duties.
