Job summary

CW seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering staff, oversee facility operations, and ensure high-quality maintenance and customer service across properties. The role emphasizes safety program leadership, budgeting, and coordination with management and tenants.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing budgets, maintaining HVAC and building systems, and implementing preventive maintenance while aligning with company policies and client expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 7+ years of related work experience in a commercial property setting or similar.
• Vocational/Technical training certificate may be required.
• Appropriate license/permit for trade (Journeyman/Master Electrician) may be required.
• EMS familiarity, fire alarm systems, and basic budgeting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, and development.
• Ensure performance management, coaching, and HR actions per processes.
• Coordinate annual safety program and ensure 100% compliance at site.
• Manage operating accounts, budgets, variances, and capital planning.
• Oversee building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety) and inspections.
• Maintain vendor relations, contractor coordination, and training initiatives.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs and oversee documentation libraries.
• Respond to emergencies and tenant concerns promptly.
