Suburban Studios Triadelphia - Wheeling at The Highlands is seeking a skilled Chief Engineer to oversee the operations of our facility maintenance team. This hands-on leadership role involves ensuring the functionality, safety, and efficiency of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, showcasing expertise in staff development and strong analytical skills. The position offers compensation of $16 - $22 hourly.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to oversee the day-to-day operations of our facility maintenance team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the functionality, safety, and efficiency of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and more. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As a key contributor to our operations team, the Chief Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining brand standards and regulatory compliance while driving high-quality performance across all maintenance functions. Responsibilities: • Assist in budget planning, including estimating costs for repairs and capital improvement projects. • Lead and manage all aspects of the maintenance department, ensuring consistent quality, safety, and operational excellence. • Hire, train, schedule, and manage the performance of maintenance staff. • Serve as the primary liaison with brand partners to ensure compliance with evolving brand standards. • Evaluate building systems to determine necessary maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. Qualifications: • Strong leadership skills with experience in staff development, evaluations, and scheduling. • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills. • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to resolve complex maintenance issues. • At least 5 years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, including team leadership. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance software systems. Compensation: $16 - $22 hourly
