Cushman & Wakefield seeks a highly experienced Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team and manage all mechanical operations for assigned properties. The role emphasizes safety, budget control, and proactive maintenance in alignment with client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, relevant licenses, and experience with EMS and fire alarm systems, ensuring 100% compliance and reliable facility performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related work experience in a commercial property setting.
• High School Diploma or GED; vocational/tech training preferred.
• License/permit for trade (e.g., Journeyman or Master Electrician).
• Familiar with Energy Management System (EMS) and fire alarm systems.
• Budget awareness and basic financial reporting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training and development.
• Ensure performance management, coaching, and HR processes are followed for the team.
• Coordinate annual safety program scheduling and ensure 100% compliance at site.
• Manage building operating budgets and capital planning with variances.
• Oversee utility management, sub-metering, reporting and cost tracking.
• Regularly inspect building systems and equipment to identify and fix issues.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
• Coordinate with contractors, tenants, and engineers for maintenance work.
