Job summary

C&W is seeking a Chief Engineer to provide daily leadership of staff and oversee the engineering program for assigned properties. The role ensures high-quality work, strong customer service, and alignment with the management team and client expectations.

The Chief Engineer will plan, implement, and supervise mechanical operations, energy management, and manpower development, while maintaining adherence to company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related work experience in a commercial property setting or similar.
• High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training may be required.
• Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required (e.g., Journeyman or Master Electrician).
• Knowledge of EMS/fire alarm systems and energy management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, personnel development.
• Ensure performance management, coaching, and development of team members through HR processes.
• Coordinate safety program activities and ensure 100% compliance at site.
• Manage operating budgets and utility management, including variance reporting.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
• Coordinate maintenance with outside contractors and tenants.
