Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Senior Building Engineer to support an office property in a collaborative team. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life-safety systems, with emphasis on energy efficiency and safety.

The candidate should have 8+ years of relevant experience, Universal CFC certification, and strong communication and analytical skills. This on-site role requires routine coordination with contractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 8+ years experience in electrical systems, refrigeration and/or HVAC.
• Universal CFC certification required; additional certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, process controls, painting or carpentry may be required by local jurisdictions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of financial terms and operating Budgets; ability to perform basic financial analysis.
• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents; strong problem-solving and quantitative skills.
• Proficient with PC/PDA for work order systems, email, and MS Office.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and perform demanding tasks; adherence to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Complies with codes, regulations and company directives for building operations and safety.
• Operates, maintains, monitors, and maintains preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on building equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, lighting, BMS, etc.).
• Maintains professional appearances of the property and engineering spaces.
• Maintains building lighting systems and performs repairs or replacements as needed.
• Prepares estimates for time and materials; orders necessary supplies to complete tasks.
• Maintains an energy management program to minimize operating costs.
• Oversees and inspects work by outside contractors (landscaping, HVAC, plumbing, cleaning, etc.).
• Performs specialized tasks (carpentry, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, welding, locksmith) and inspects building systems.
• Uses PC/PDA for work orders, email, ESS and training; responds to emergencies and customer concerns.
• Provides informal guidance and training to coworkers; coordinates tasks within a team.
