Job summary

Action Property Management is seeking a Chief Building Engineer for the San Francisco region to oversee daily building operations and ensure adherence to HOA policies. The role requires hands-on management of mechanical, electrical, fire safety, HVAC, and related systems, with a focus on reliability and safety.

The position supervises maintenance staff, coordinates with contractors, and leads preventative maintenance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of onsite high rise or mid-rise building engineer experience.
• Familiar with the Uniform Commercial Building Code.
• HOA experience is a plus.
• Hands-on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and painting experience.
• Fire system management experience.
• Must be available by cell phone 24/7 for emergencies.
• Must be able to pass a background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the building, ensuring compliance with HOA policies and regulations.
• Monitor and maintain building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, HVAC, and water circulation.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors.
• Plan and implement a preventative maintenance program.
• Collaborate with General Manager on building system modifications and improvements.
