Job summary

Action Property Management in San Francisco seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to support the Chief Engineer in maintaining a high-rise building. You will supervise the maintenance team, manage projects, respond to emergencies, and ensure regulatory compliance to keep residents safe and comfortable.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems, plus hands-on leadership and excellent communication with vendors and residents.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of high-rise building engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems.
• Proficient with BuildingLink, HIPPO and Building Management Systems.
• Able to pass pre-employment background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and operation of building systems.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate repairs.
• Lead maintenance team and assign tasks.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts.
• Develop and track common area work orders using BuildingLink.
• Ensure safety compliance and building codes.
• Prepare reports and maintain records.
• Plan renovations and upgrades.
• Provide resident-facing support on building amenities.
