Job summary

Action Property Management is seeking a Chief Building Engineer for the Los Angeles region. The role oversees all common-area operations, maintains mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems, and coordinates with contractors to ensure HOA compliance and system reliability.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, with on-call emergencies. Compensation ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, with a comprehensive benefits package and room for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of onsite high rise or mid-rise building engineer experience preferably in property management, hospitality or commercial property management.
• Familiarity with Uniform Commercial Building Code (UCBC).
• Certifications/licenses as listed below are preferred, not mandatory.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Must be available by cell phone 24/7 for emergencies.
• Must pass a background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the building, ensuring compliance with HOA policies and regulations.
• Monitor and maintain building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, HVAC, and water circulation.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors; plan preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with General Manager on building system modifications and control software.
• Supervise maintenance personnel and report on staff activities and work orders.
