Job summary

Action Property Management is seeking a seasoned Assistant Chief Engineer for The Infinity in San Francisco to support the Chief Engineer with maintenance and operations of a high-rise building. The role covers preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, emergency response, and team leadership.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in residential/commercial high-rise engineering, strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection, plus familiarity with BuildingLink and building

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of residential or commercial high rise building engineering experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems.
• Knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Building Code.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Available for overtime and after-hour emergencies; may fill in for senior roles.
• Proficient with BuildingLink, HIPPO, MS Office, and building management systems.
• Ability to compile written reports from troubleshooting findings for management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection systems and building components.
• Respond to emergency calls and coordinate repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures and implement solutions.
• Assist with project planning and renovations.
• Manage vendor relationships and contract performance.
• Ensure safety regulations and building codes compliance; conduct inspections.
• Maintain records and generate reports; manage common area work orders in BuildingLink.
• Supervise maintenance engineers; provide training and development.
• Educate residents on building amenities and equipment usage.
