Job summary

Action Property Management is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for The Infinity property in San Francisco. The role supports the Chief Engineer in overseeing maintenance and operations of a high-rise building, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response.

The ideal candidate has strong HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection knowledge, plus 5+ years of relevant experience. Competitive hourly pay and on‑call schedule are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of residential or commercial high‑rise building engineering experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems.
• Familiar with Uniform Commercial Building Code.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage a maintenance team and coordinate training.
• Proficiency with BuildingLink, HIPPO, MS Office and BMS systems.
• Willingness to participate in after‑hours on‑call emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate repairs with vendors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement fixes.
• Assist with project planning and renovations.
• Manage vendor relationships and monitor contract performance.
• Ensure safety compliance and conduct inspections for violations.
• Prepare reports and maintain upkeep of common area work orders.
• Supervise maintenance engineers and provide training.
• Assist residents and address building system concerns.
