Job summary

Action Property Management seeks a Chief Building Engineer to oversee daily operations of the building and ensure compliance with HOA policies. The role demands hands-on experience across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire life safety, plus coordinating with vendors and on-call readiness.

Minimum 3 years in onsite building engineering, familiarity with building codes, and HOA exposure are preferred. Salary ranges from $110,000 to $140,000 annually with a Monday–Friday schedule and on-call

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of onsite high rise or mid-rise building engineer experience.
• Familiar with the Uniform Commercial Building Code.
• HOA experience is a plus.
• Hands on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and painting experience.
• Fire system management experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Team player attitude.
• Must be available by cell phone 24/7 for emergencies.
• Must be able to pass a background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facets of the daily operations of the building, ensuring compliance with HOA policies and regulations as required by code and regulatory enforcement agencies.
• Monitor and maintain optimum performance of building systems including mechanical, electrical/electronic, fire life safety, and HVAC.
• Coordinate and interact with external contractors and vendors.
• Plan and implement a preventative maintenance program.
• Collaborate with General Manager on modifications and improvements to building systems, including control software.
• Supervise maintenance personnel and develop staff performance protocols.
• Prepare and report on staff activities and work orders.
• Oversee contracted housekeeping, landscaping, pool maintenance, and other onsite services.
• Prepare reports on vendor performance and status for Management and Board.
• Maintain preparedness for emergency responses and respond promptly to emergencies.
