Job summary

Lerch Bates seeks a Senior Building Enclosure Consultant to lead complex building enclosure projects across assessment, design, and commissioning. You will evaluate performance, mentor staff, and manage client relationships with owners, architects, and contractors.

The role demands extensive building science knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams through project delivery from planning to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Construction Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Construction Management, or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA/AIA), or other relevant licensure required.
• 8+ years of experience in building enclosure consulting, building science, rehabilitation, architecture, engineering, construction, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead building enclosure investigations, condition assessments, and performance evaluations for a variety of building types.
• Evaluate roofing, waterproofing, facades, fenestration systems, air barriers, vapor barriers, and exterior wall assemblies.
• Prepare and present technical reports documenting existing conditions, findings, repair strategies, and recommended next steps.
• Lead development of construction drawings, specifications, repair documents, bid packages, and technical deliverables.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and technical staff throughout project execution.
• Support building enclosure commissioning (BECx), enclosure testing, and construction quality assurance programs.
