Job summary

Lerch Bates Inc. seeks an Associate Building Enclosure Consultant to join our Building Science team.

This early-career role develops expertise in building enclosure consulting, project management, and client services while growing toward an independent consultant role. As an Associate Consultant, you will work with experienced professionals on projects involving both new construction and existing buildings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred.
• Experience in building enclosure or related engineering domains is beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical knowledge through hands-on training and mentorship with experienced consultants.
• Support building envelope projects for new and existing buildings.
• Assist with proposal prep, contracts, planning, design review, field observations, and client meetings.
• Assist with evaluating roofing, cladding, waterproofing, glazing, sealants, and weather barriers.
• Develop understanding of building science principles and industry standards.
• Support project management and client communications to ensure quality and schedules.
• Participate in field observations, inspections, QA activities and performance testing.
• Travel regionally to project sites as needed and adhere to safety procedures.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, architects and stakeholders.
