Job summary

Lerch Bates is seeking a Building Enclosure Consultant to join our Building Science team in Raleigh, NC. The role supports design, construction consulting, commissioning, and rehabilitation projects across the building lifecycle.

You will lead investigations, review drawings, and provide expert recommendations to improve enclosure performance. Travel to project sites is expected, with a mix of office, client, and field work in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of building enclosure consulting, architecture, engineering, construction, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of roofing, waterproofing, facades, fenestration and air/water/thermal/vapor barriers.
• Experience reviewing construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
• PE/RA/AIA/RRC/REWC or similar credential is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead building enclosure assessments and investigations for multiple project types.
• Provide design consulting, peer reviews of drawings, and enclosure strategy guidance.
• Oversee on-site quality assurance and submittal reviews to verify design intent.
• Support commissioning efforts and enclosure testing activities.
• Manage projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
