Job summary

Divcon Controls in Dallas, TX, seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead design, documentation, and implementation of complex building automation and control systems for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.

You will mentor junior designers, ensure designs meet customer expectations and energy efficiency goals, and collaborate with mechanical, software, and commissioning teams to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in building automation, MEP design, or industrial controls.
• Experience producing/reviewing AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical drawings and submittal packages.
• Hands-on experience with control systems communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.).
• Familiarity with DDC system architecture, field controllers, and point mapping for HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL 508A, ASHRAE 135, and local energy codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design of HVAC and building automation control systems, including schematics, riser diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring details.
• Translate mechanical/electrical plans into full automation designs and integrate with SOO.
• Develop and review submittals, BOMs, and control device specs for procurement and fabrication.
• QA/QC reviews of control drawings, submittals, and as-builts.
• Support commissioning and startup with software and installation teams, troubleshoot issues.
• Develop sequence of operations, logic diagrams, and narratives for advanced mechanical systems.
