Job summary
Divcon, headquartered in Dallas, TX, seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and implementation of complex building automation and control systems for commercial facilities. You will mentor junior designers and ensure designs meet performance and energy efficiency goals.
You will bridge electrical design with software integration, developing sequences of operation and coordinating with IT, mechanical, and commissioning teams to deliver scalable BAS solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical, Mechanical or Controls Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of progressive building automation/industrial controls experience.
- Experience producing/reviewing AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical drawings and submittals.
- Hands-on knowledge of control system communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
- Familiarity with DDC architecture, field controllers, and control sequencing.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design of HVAC and BAS control systems, including schematics and wiring details.
- Translate plans into automation designs with mechanical and operation sequences.
- Develop BOMs, submittals, and equipment specifications for procurement.
- Apply NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, and UL standards across designs.
- Support commissioning and startup with software and installation teams.
