Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Major Bridge Technical Director to lead our major bridge portfolio within the Transportation Business Group. You will champion technical leadership across long-span bridge design, analysis, and production, while guiding staffing, training, and QA/QC processes.

With a focus on client relationships and strategic marketing, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and mentor engineers, traveling nationally and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Professional engineering license (PE/P.Eng) required with reciprocity options.
• 10+ years bridge design and client management experience.
• Experience leading design teams on major long-span bridges (>=900 ft).
• Familiarity with Design-Build and P3 delivery methods.
• Proven leadership, communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, directing, and monitoring large multi-disciplinary bridge projects.
• Provide technical oversight and coordinate across teams.
• Deliver design leadership for long-span bridges and production efforts.
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee QA/QC procedures.
• Support business development and major bridge pursuits.
