Job summary

HDR seeks a Senior Major Bridge Technical Director to lead large, multi-disciplinary bridge projects across HDR’s Transportation Business Group. You will provide strategic technical direction, staffing oversight, and mentoring for teams, ensuring design integrity and client satisfaction.

You will drive collaboration with design teams, lead complex analysis, and guide staff at multiple locations while advancing HDR’s standards and innovative practices in bridge engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and PE license with licensure in applicable jurisdictions.
• 10+ years of bridge design experience with proven project leadership.
• Experience leading long-span bridge design, EOR roles, and complex deliveries.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and business development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, directing, and monitoring large multi-disciplinary bridge projects.
• Provide technical oversight and cross-team coordination across design teams.
• Deliver design leadership for bridge production efforts.
• Mentor junior engineers and supervise staff across locations.
• Support marketing, proposals, and client relationships.
• Ensure QA/QC and adherence to HDR standards.
