The Major Bridge Technical Director role combines deep structural mastery with strategic leadership to guide HDR’s Bridges & Structures portfolio, drive design excellence, and mentor a global team of engineers.

You will oversee complex long-span projects, advance QA/QC, foster client relationships, and support business development while promoting HDR’s culture of collaboration,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural engineering and PE license.
• 10+ years bridge design experience including lead responsibility.
• Proven ability to manage complex long-span bridge projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, directing, and monitoring large, multi-disciplinary bridge projects.
• Provide technical oversight and cross-team coordination.
• Deliver bridge design and production; mentor junior engineers.
• Oversee QA/QC, training, and staff development.
