Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Sr. Construction Inspector to oversee roadway and bridge construction on-site. This role requires meticulous inspections, documenting deficiencies, and ensuring alignment with contract specifications.

You will mentor junior staff, prepare detailed reports, coordinate with IQF, and support quality assurance programs. Travel to project sites and work some nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Eng or related field with 3 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Or an Associate degree with 8 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Or a high school diploma with 15 years of inspection experience as OV for a State Highway Agency.
• Experience in transportation construction inspection including heavy civil, bridges and roadways.
• Knowledge of specifications, standards, materials, and equipment for highway and bridge construction.
• Strong math skills and ability to read complex plans and reports.
• Ability to work independently and make field decisions; commitment to safety.
• Valid US Driver’s License and pass MVR checks.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document deficiencies in roadway and bridge work and ensure contract compliance.
• Conduct daily site visits to verify materials and workmanship to project specs.
• Mentor junior team members and review their work for QA.
• Provide inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Serve as SME on Developer activities including remediation and repair reviews.
• Monitor on-site activities and inspect materials per plans, specs and provisions.
• Oversee sampling/testing in accordance with CQAP and project schedule.
• Attend pre-activity meetings and coordinate with IQF; resolve issues.
• Ensure QA materials data is uploaded to the Department’s database on time.
• Perform contract admin duties and maintain required documentation.
