Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Construction Inspector in Atlanta, GA to lead field inspections and ensure compliance with contract specs. You will perform daily site visits, mentor junior staff, and generate detailed inspection reports for bridge construction and OV activities.

The role requires strong plan-reading, math skills, and safety focus, with knowledge of GDOT-like processes and field QA protocols. A valid US driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology and 3+ years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology and 8+ years of inspection experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 15+ years of inspection experience in state highway projects.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction and communicate adjustments to meet contract specs.
• Conduct daily site visits to verify materials and workmanship per project specs.
• Mentor junior team members and review work for quality assurance.
• Provide specialized inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Act as SME on Developer activities including remediation and repair reviews.
• Monitor on-site construction activities and inspect materials according to plans and specs.
• Oversee sampling/testing in line with CQAP and project schedules.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with Developer contractor and IQF.
• Coordinate with IQF to resolve quality issues and ensure timely QA data entry.
• Ensure material certification requirements for final acceptance are met.
• Perform contract admin duties and maintain required documentation.
