Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Senior Construction Inspector to lead field oversight for roadway and bridge projects, primarily in Atlanta, GA. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology and three years of progressive roadway and bridge construction inspection experience.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology and eight years of progressive roadway and bridge construction inspection experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent and fifteen years of progressive roadway and bridge construction inspection experience.
• Experience in transportation construction inspection, including heavy civil, bridge and roadway projects.
• Thorough knowledge of specifications and standards, acceptable construction practices, materials, methods, and equipment used in both general highway construction and bridge construction.
• Proficient and knowledge of mathematical functions, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Experience in reading and interpreting complex construction plans and reports.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and document deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction per contract specifications.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor work-in-progress and ensure material/workmanship compliance.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members and review their work.
• Provide specialized inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Act as SME on Developer activities, including remediation and repair reviews.
• Monitor on-site activities and inspect materials entering the work per plans and provisions.
• Perform QA sampling/testing verification as part of the CQAP.
• Ensure material certification requirements for Final Acceptance are met.
• Perform contract administrative duties and maintain required documentation.
