Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Sr. Construction Inspector in Atlanta, GA to proactively inspect roadway and bridge construction, monitor progress, and mentor junior technicians.

You will ensure materials and workmanship meet project specifications and provide detailed reports for OV and bridge construction activities. The role requires strong knowledge of GDOT standards, CQAP, and the ability to make field decisions while prioritizing safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology and 3 years of roadway/bridge inspection.
• Associate degree and 8 years of inspection experience.
• High school diploma and 15 years of inspection experience or equivalent.
• Experience in transportation construction inspection including heavy civil, bridges and roadways.
• Knowledge of specs, standards, materials, methods and equipment used in highway/bridge work.
• Proficient in algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
• Able to read and interpret complex construction plans.
• Ability to work independently and make field decisions.
• Strong commitment to safety in construction environments.
• Valid US Driver's License and MVR clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document deficiencies in roadway/bridge work per contract specs.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor progress, materials and workmanship.
• Mentor junior team members and review their work.
• Provide inspections and reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Serve as SME on Developer activities, including remediation and repair reviews.
• Monitor on-site construction and inspect materials per plans and CQAP.
