Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our expanding Bridge groups in Boston, MA or Hartford, CT. You will work on large projects that transform urban fabric, leading design and analysis for road, highway and transit bridges with collaboration across disciplines.

You should bring 8+ years of experience, a BS in Civil Engineering (structural), and preference for PE licensure. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and bridge design software is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related work experience.
• BS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
• MS in Structural Engineering is desirable.
• Professional Engineer registration preferred.
• Knowledge of state Bridge Design Manuals desirable.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Leadership and emotional intelligence skills.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering of bridges and structures for road, highway and transit systems in MA and New England.
• Perform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
• Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys and designs.
• Prepare drawings, specifications and materials for procurement and construction.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines and departments.
• Prepare requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
• Prepare and issue specifications and data sheets for construction.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters and junior engineers.
