Job summary

H&H's Rail & Transit Group in Boston seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design of fixed and movable bridges and perform inspections. This role offers exposure to major projects, client coordination, and growth within a well-established nationwide firm.

You will prepare plans, perform analyses, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver safe, constructible solutions for rail infrastructure. A MA PE license and 8+ years of bridge experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• PE License required (MA preferred).
• Eight years of structural engineering experience with a focus on bridge design.
• Rail experience preferred.
• Experience with FEM modeling software.
• Local rail client base preferred (MBTA, Amtrak).
• Proficient in verbal and written communications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Structural Engineer on major projects
• Prepare detailed plans and construction documents
• Perform structural design calculations and analysis
• Develop technical specifications and contract bid documents
• Prepare technical reports
• Lead site visits for condition inspections
• Coordinate across disciplines and work in a team environment
• Mentor and train junior staff
