Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the CB Node team within the Platform organization. You will optimize performance across the blockchain node stack, build observability and failover capabilities, and drive capacity models to balance reliability with cost efficiency.

You will collaborate across protocol integration, wallet, and indexer teams to deliver scalable, reliable nodes. You will help define SLOs/SLIs and validate upgrades for resource efficiency, working in a remote-first

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering with a focus on production performance.
Experience operating distributed systems at scale.
Proficiency in backend programming (Go preferred) and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

Own deep performance analysis and optimization across the node stack to reduce infrastructure spend while maintaining reliability SLOs.
Build observability, health-check, and automated failover for blockchain nodes.
Drive right-sizing and capacity models for node fleets balancing cost and reliability.
Collaborate with protocol integration, wallet, and indexer teams to extend performance improvements.
Define and implement SLOs and SLIs for node services.
Support protocol upgrades ensuring resource efficiency and regression testing before production.
