Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the CB Node team under the Platform organization. You will optimize performance across the blockchain node stack, build observability and failover capabilities, and drive capacity planning to balance cost with reliability.

You’ll work with protocol integration, wallet, and indexer squads to extend improvements across the platform and help define SLOs/SLIs for node services. Remote-first environment with quarterly in-person sessions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with systems-level performance focus.
• Experience operating distributed systems at scale and diagnosing bottlenecks.
• Proficiency in Go and systems tooling for profiling, tracing, and observability.
• Track record of reducing infrastructure costs via engineering optimization.
• Experience with blockchain nodes or crypto infra is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own deep performance analysis and optimization across the blockchain node stack.
• Build observability, health-check, and automated failover for blockchain nodes.
• Drive right-sizing initiatives across the node fleet and establish capacity models.
• Collaborate with protocol integration, wallet, and indexer teams to extend performance.
• Lead the definition of SLOs/SLIs for node services and reliability.
• Support protocol upgrades and node operations with a performance-first lens.
