Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the CB Node team within the Platform organization. You will own deep performance analysis across the blockchain node stack, build observability and health-check systems, and drive capacity models that balance reliability with cost efficiency.

You will partner with protocol integration engineers and wallet teams to extend improvements across the platform stack and define SLOs/SLIs for node services, ensuring production readiness for upgrades

Qualifications

5+ years in software engineering with systems-level performance focus.
Experience operating distributed systems at scale and tuning performance.
Backend programming in Go and observability tooling expertise.

Responsibilities

Own deep performance analysis across the blockchain node stack.
Build observability, health-check, and automated failover capabilities.
Drive right-sizing and capacity modeling for cost efficiency and reliability.
Collaborate with protocol integration, wallet, and indexer teams to propagate improvements.
Lead the definition and implementation of SLOs/SLIs for node services.
Support protocol upgrades with performance-first validation and regression testing.
