Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the CB Node team within the Platform organization. This role focuses on performance optimization, observability, and reliability across the blockchain node stack to support 55+ protocols while reducing infrastructure spend.

You will collaborate with protocol integration, wallet, and indexer teams to extend improvements beyond the node layer, and contribute to define SLOs/SLIs for dependable operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with performance analysis and production optimization.
• Experience operating distributed systems at scale and tuning performance across heterogeneous workloads.
• Backend Go development and observability tooling expertise.
• Strong preference for blockchain/nodes or crypto infra experience.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own deep performance analysis and optimization of the blockchain node stack.
• Build observability, health-checks, and automatic failover for nodes.
• Lead right-sizing and capacity modeling across the node fleet.
• Collaborate with protocol integration, wallet, and indexer teams to extend performance gains.
• Define and implement SLOs/SLIs for node services.
• Support protocol upgrades with performance-focused validation.
