WACKER seeks a senior Business Development Manager to drive growth in biotech/biopharma with a strong network in the US. The role focuses on plasmid DNA, mRNA, recombinant proteins, and related manufacturing services, coordinating with North America BD teams and cross-functional experts to reach revenue targets and sharpen marketing strategy.

The position is based on the West Coast with a focus on San Diego and surrounding markets, offering a comprehensive benefits package and hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry; PhD preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in biologics/microbial protein production; 5 years in BD/sales in Pharma or Biotech.
• Technical presentation experience to customers in a highly technical environment.
• Proven record in project management and/or business development.
• Strong gravitas and relationship-building skills.
• Listening and empathy demonstrated.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities and projects.
• Experience negotiating price, costs, deliverables and specifications.
• High service orientation with entrepreneurial focus.
• Strong communication and team player traits.

Responsabilités

• Build and expand new client network; represent Wacker at visits, calls, and events to develop business.
• Plan and perform sale; develop proposals with milestones and pricing; negotiate contracts.
• Manage all business aspects of customer relationships.
• Deliver exemplary customer services.
• Collaborate with BU, BD leadership, technical teams to meet region targets.
• Stay current on competitors and inform future service offerings.
• Maintain records of visits and negotiation progress; provide timely reports.
• Develop and update industry knowledge; exchange information with sites in San Diego, Jena & Halle, Amsterdam.
