Job summary

Wacker Chemie AG in the United States is seeking a senior Business Development Manager with a strong biotech/biopharma network to join our expanding team. You will work with North America BD to grow plasmid DNA, mRNA, recombinant proteins, and related manufacturing services from a West Coast location.

You will lead strategic initiatives, manage customer relationships, negotiate contracts, and help refine marketing strategy to meet revenue targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry; PhD preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience in biologics/microbial protein production processes; 5+ years in commercial/BD in Pharma or Biotech.
• Technical presentation experience selling products in a highly technical environment.
• Proven record of successful project management and/or business development.
• Strong gravitas and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication and organizational/time management skills.
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to explain technical content.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build and expand a client network and represent Wacker at customer visits, presentations, and trade shows to develop business.
• Plan and perform sales activities, develop proposals with milestones and pricing, and negotiate contracts with internal cooperation.
• Manage all business aspects of the customer relationship and deliver exemplary service.
• Collaborate with BU/BD leadership,Technical experts, PM and SME teams to meet regional sales targets.
• Stay current on competitors and provide input for future service offerings.
• Maintain records of visits and negotiations; provide timely reporting as requested.
