Job summary

HP Inc. in Spring, TX is seeking a Firmware Engineer BIOS/UEFI to own embedded firmware quality end-to-end. You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, QA, and product teams to define metrics, validate behavior, and prevent regressions in BIOS/UEFI, EC, and platform components.

The role requires 7–10 years in embedded firmware and strong C/C++ skills, with experience in driver development and bootloaders. A BS/MS in engineering fields is expected.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of embedded firmware, quality engineering, hardware/firmware debugging, or reliability engineering experience.
• Strong background in embedded systems, microcontrollers, low-level debugging and system architecture.
• Solid knowledge of C/C++, driver development, BIOS/UEFI fundamentals and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive firmware test plans including functional and regression tests.
• Evaluate firmware architecture and testing methods to improve quality and reliability.
• Perform root-cause analysis of defects and verify fixes with cross-functional teams.
• Create and manage reliability metrics, dashboards, and KPI tracking.
• Mentor engineers and ensure adherence to coding standards and quality processes.
