Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking an experienced BIOS/firmware engineer to design, develop, debug, and validate firmware for high-performance computing platforms. The role works close to hardware, spanning BIOS initialization, platform bring-up, and driver integration across multiple processor families.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in embedded software and 10+ years in BIOS development, with strong C/C++ and Linux experience, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of embedded software development.
• Minimum 10 years of BIOS development.
• Expertise with C/C++, BIOS technologies across processor families and platform architectures.
• Experience with UEFI firmware development and Linux development environments.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and maintains BIOS enhancements for server/HPC platforms.
• Assesses design, coding, integration, and validation activities based on product goals, platform architecture, hardware dependencies, and firmware requirements.
• Writes and executes test plans, protocols, and documentation for BIOS and platform-firmware areas; debugs firmware behavior and hardware initialization issues.
• Leads or coordinates project work with software engineers, hardware partners, BIOS vendors, and development partners to deliver firmware solutions.
• Communicates with management and partners on firmware design status, risks, and issue resolution.
• Represent the system software engineering team through larger BIOS and platform-firmware development programs.
• Provides guidance to less-experienced staff.
