Job summary

HP is seeking an embedded software/firmware engineer to drive design, development, and debugging for hardware integrations. You will work with software and hardware teams to ensure seamless communication, quality, and reliability across DSP, EFI drivers, BIOS/UEFI, and embedded code.

Responsibilities include planning, resource allocation, and leading a team of engineers and partners to deliver high-quality firmware solutions. Strong knowledge of C/C++, RTOS, Linux is required.

Qualifications

• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4-6 years of firmware development experience, or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Owns the preparation and creation of instructional technical manuscripts for firmware operation.
• Allocates resources to complete programming projects, and designing detailed plans to ensure firmware is functioning properly.
• Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for firmware portions and subsystems including DSP, embedded code, EFI drivers, EFI applications and BIOS/UEFI.
• Analyzes design to determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on objectives and architecture.
• Writes and executes testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion; creates solutions for code issues and integrates into architecture.
• Leads a project team of software firmware engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost effective solutions.
