Job summary

Ashton North LLC in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior BIOS/UEFI Engineer for new product development. You will lead BIOS customization from AMI/Intel reference BIOS and collaborate with hardware, FPGA, and software teams on board bring-up and production readiness.

The role demands hands-on UEFI BIOS development, strong C skills, and the ability to own complex hardware/firmware issues in a defense/aerospace, rugged embedded context.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on BIOS development experience.
• Strong experience developing UEFI BIOS; modern UEFI required.
• Experience personally developing BIOS and board bring-up.
• BIOS bring-up on newly designed hardware.
• BIOS running on the board they helped bring up.
• Strong C programming skills.
• Ability to debug hardware/firmware at low level.
• Experience porting/customizing BIOS to new hardware.
• Solid understanding of hardware/firmware interaction.
• Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize UEFI BIOS for new embedded products.
• Perform BIOS bring-up on new boards.
• Debug hardware/firmware issues during initial startup.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, and software engineers to validate system functionality.
• Support interfaces like USB, PCI Express, SATA, and related board-level functions.
• Take BIOS development from bring-up to production.
