Job summary

Software Placement Group in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior BIOS / UEFI Engineer to join our engineering team. You will lead BIOS development for rugged embedded computing platforms, starting from AMI/Intel references and guiding boards from bring-up to production.

You will collaborate with hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software engineers, perform BIOS bring-up on new designs, debug issues at power-on, and ensure interfaces like USB, PCIe, SATA function correctly.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on BIOS development experience.
Strong experience developing UEFI BIOS; modern UEFI experience required.
Demonstrated experience personally developing BIOS and bringing up on hardware.
Experience customizing or porting BIOS to new hardware.
Strong understanding of hardware/firmware interaction.

Responsibilities

Develop and customize UEFI BIOS for rugged embedded products from AMI/Intel references.
Perform BIOS bring-up on newly designed boards and debug startup issues.
Collaborate with hardware, FPGA and software engineers to validate system functionality.
Support interfaces such as USB, PCI Express, SATA and other board-level features.
Carry BIOS development from bring-up through production.
