Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Senior BIOS / UEFI Engineer for new product development in Huntsville, AL. You will adapt AMI/Intel reference BIOS to new hardware and own BIOS bring-up from early development toward production.

You will work closely with hardware, FPGA, IPMC, and software teams, owning BIOS development and addressing challenging hardware/firmware interactions to deliver rugged embedded computing platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on BIOS development experience.
• Strong experience with UEFI BIOS, modern implementations required.
• Personally developed BIOS and ran on boards during bring-up.
• Experience bringing up BIOS on newly designed hardware.
• BIOS running on boards you've helped bring up.
• Strong C programming and low-level system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize UEFI BIOS for new rugged embedded platforms.
• Perform BIOS bring-up on newly designed boards with hardware team.
• Debug hardware/firmware issues during initial startup.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, IPMC, and software engineers.
• Support interfaces such as USB, PCIe, SATA at the BIOS level.
