Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on BIOS development experience.
• Strong experience developing UEFI BIOS; modern UEFI experience required.
• Experience developing BIOS and personally bringing up BIOS on boards.
• Experience with BIOS bring-up on newly designed hardware.
• Experience where BIOS ran on the board they helped bring up.
• Strong working proficiency in C.
• Ability to perform low-level programming involving registers, memory, peripherals.
• Experience customizing or porting BIOS to new hardware.
• Strong understanding of hardware/firmware interaction.
• Ability to work with hardware engineers and other disciplines.
• Willingness to work full-time on-site in Huntsville, Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize UEFI BIOS for new products.
• Perform BIOS bring-up on newly designed boards.
• Debug hardware/firmware issues during initial board startup.
• Work with hardware, FPGA, and other firmware engineers to validate system functionality.
• Support interfaces such as USB, PCI Express, SATA and other board-level functionality.
• Take BIOS development from initial bring-up through production.
