Job summary

NPAworldwide in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Senior BIOS/UEFI Engineer to develop and customize BIOS for rugged embedded computing platforms. You will start from AMI/Intel reference BIOS and adapt it to new hardware, owning BIOS development from bring-up to production.

You will work closely with hardware, FPGA, IPMC, and software teams to resolve complex platform initialization issues and ensure robust BIOS functionality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on BIOS development experience.
• Strong experience with UEFI BIOS; modern UEFI required.
• Demonstrated BIOS development on boards during bring-up.
• Experience with BIOS customization for new hardware.
• Strong C programming and low-level hardware interaction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize UEFI BIOS for new rugged embedded platforms.
• Perform BIOS bring-up on newly designed boards and validate hardware/firmware integration.
• Debug hardware/firmware issues during initial startup with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, IPMC, and software engineers to ensure system functionality.
• Support interfaces such as USB, PCIe, SATA, and other board-level features.
• Take BIOS development from bring-up to production release.
