Job summary

Connexus Energy is seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Billing & Operations Specialist to ensure accurate and timely billing for residential and commercial members.

This role blends utility billing expertise with data analysis and cross-department collaboration to improve processes and the member experience. You will verify complex rate structures, audit AMI readings, and resolve billing discrepancies while supporting system enhancements and special projects.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and three years of experience with utility billing systems, finance, or accounting
• Five years of experience with utility billing systems, finance, or accounting

Responsibilities

• Ensure commercial accounts are billed accurately and on schedule.
• Verify complex rate structures, including demand billing, peak-period charges, distribut ed generation credits, and other billing components.
• Perform audits, research, and analysis to identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Ensure AMI billing readings are collected, loaded and accurate prior to each billing run; monitor and resolve meter reporting issues.
• Analyze usage data from AMI and research exceptions to create timely bills with minimal defects.
• Independently analyze and correct member data, including adding/removing special rates and researching inquiries.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing processes, data quality, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support system enhancements and process improvements.
