Job summary

City of New York's Department of Transportation seeks two experienced Senior Project Coordinators for the Cycling & Micromobility Unit. You will help design and deliver construction-ready bicycle infrastructure across all five boroughs, coordinating with engineers, planners, and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities include developing AutoCAD drawings, reviewing Synchro models, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NYC DOT standards, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in transportation engineering, mathematics, urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, urban studies, or related physical and social science fields; or

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed proposed street designs incorporating bicycle facilities, pedestrian improvements, and traffic calming to enhance safety.
• Create comprehensive AutoCAD drawings showing vehicle and bike lane configurations, intersection treatments, curb alignments, roadway dimensions, vertical elements, and markings.
• Develop and review Synchro traffic models to evaluate intersection capacity, delay, and level of service for multimodal street designs.
• Review and quality-check drawings produced by junior staff and consultants.
• Coordinate with DOT divisions to ensure design consistency and best practices for micromobility.
• Conduct site visits and field measurements to inform design decisions.
• Prepare design presentations and graphics for community meetings and internal coordination.
• Ensure all designs comply with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NYC DOT standards.
• Support junior staff training and technical development.
