Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation seeks two Senior Project Coordinators to design and develop construction-ready bicycle infrastructure projects across all five boroughs. You will create detailed street layouts, perform Synchro analyses, and produce presentation materials for community meetings.

You will collaborate with engineers and planners, review junior staff drawings, and ensure designs meet AASHTO, MUTCD, and NYC DOT standards. Residency and licensing requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in transportation engineering or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Bachelor’s in engineering with 1–2 years of roadway/traffic studies experience.
• Additional years of specified experience for higher assignment levels.
• Residency requirements and NYC employment conditions apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction-ready street designs balancing bike, pedestrian, and vehicle needs.
• Produce AutoCAD drawings with lane configurations, intersections, and markings.
• Review Synchro models for capacity, delay, and LOS analyses.
• Coordinate with DOT divisions to ensure design consistency and standards compliance.
• Conduct site visits, prepare community presentation graphics, and support junior staff.
